Fellows are young leaders from Sub-Saharan Africa who have a proven record of accomplishment in promoting innovation and positive change in their organizations, institutions, or communities.

The goals of the Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders are to build and sustain a prestigious network of young leaders across critical sectors and cement stronger ties between Africa and the United States.  The Mandela Washington Fellowship program for Young African Leaders represents the extraordinary promise of an emerging generation of entrepreneurs, activists, and public officials.
